Humble Happenings

Welcome!

This website will be the place to look for weekly homework and upcoming events for Ms. Humble's class.

About Ms. Humble

My journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. I did my Student Teaching at Artesia High School. Since then, I have taught 5th grade, Kindergarten, and am now lucky enough to be with wonderful 2nd Graders! Thank you for the privilege of working with you this year!

My interests include: rock climbing, cycling, backpacking, and camping. I love good food, and time spent with family and friends. My main interest this year, though, is to make sure you have a wonderful year with me.

Why I Am Here

I hope to challenge you to grow, academically. I will encourage you to develop discipline. I hope you will find yourself doing homework without having to be asked. It would make me very happy to hear that you get caught up in a book, and you cannot put it down because it is so interesting! I would like you to use your time outside of school to apply what we learn about money, time, and fractions. Help your parents/guardians count out change. Try to tell them what time it is, using "quarter to" and "half past". Ask someone at home if you can help measure out ingredients for a recipe. I also want you to be compassionate. I want you to learn how to be thoughtful of others, and I will encourage you to use words like "please" and "thank you". As we learn this year, let's remember to be curious, too...about everything! Ask me questions (but raise your hand, please) and take the opportunities I give you to present what you have learned to your classmates.

I love my job because of YOU!

We will have a great year!
